At the beginning of the century, digital photography and imaging software were in their infancy. At this time, Alicia Ross explored various digital techniques that married scanned film with emerging digital manipulation technologies. Ross’s early interest in cinematic narrative in the context of still image-making, and her use of the female figure can be seen repeated, and continued to evolved into her more recent fiber work.
